Navigated implantology

WHAT IS NAVIGATED IMPLANTOLOGY ?

Maximum precision and gentle implantation - this is what "Navigated Implantology" stands for.

Using three-dimensional X-ray images of a DVT and computer-aided planning, each step of the implantation is planned and checked very precisely in advance. During implantation, all the implantologist's steps are monitored in real time and compared with the previous planning.

A NAVIGATION SYSTEM FOR IMPLANTOLOGISTS

Imagine a car trip in 1980 to a foreign country. You have planned everything on a map, as was usual in the past, but the journey itself is different: an exit is missed, there are road works, detours and much more, which can affect the course of the journey.
And now imagine the same journey with a modern GPS-based navigation device. Everything becomes easier: road works are automatically avoided, alternative route suggestions are provided and much more.
This is Navigated Implantology for the implantologist. Imagine him driving you to your desired destination.

MODERN SYSTEMS OF NAVIGATED IMPLANTOLOGY

SOPHISTICATED OPTICAL DETECTION

During implantation, every movement of the implantologist must be precisely recorded in order to provide the system with data for comparison with the planning. In the course of the development of navigated implantology, there were various optical systems for this purpose, which were attached to the body and treatment devices and were more or less annoying and obstructive for the implantologist.
Our system has been kept particularly slim in this respect and offers very convenient movement monitoring.

SYNERGY EFFECTS OF DIGITAL PROCESSING

After implant planning, the dental prosthesis can also be generated virtually. Modern systems have interfaces to include the result in the planning. From here on, the planning software of navigated implantology becomes the communication level for the implantologist and his dental technician. The latter can express his concerns in advance and the implantologist can react accordingly by optimizing the planned implant axes in favor of the dental prosthesis. The esthetic result benefits because the screw channels of the denture are located as favorably as possible.

PROCEDURE OF A NAVIGATED IMPLANTATION

1. survey of findings - consultation

People and their individual needs are very different, even when it comes to dental prostheses. Thus, it is extremely important to assess the personal situation, suggest treatment options and analyze the individual investment framework of a treatment in detail. This involves the number of implants required and the type of dental prosthesis. For this purpose, we usually make a DVT and then we advise you in detail with regard to your ACTUAL situation and your wishes.

2. virtual 3D implant planning

We process the corresponding data from the 3D X-ray image with a special 3D implant planning program. In this way, the available bone of the jaw can be optimally utilized, taking into account all other external factors. Implant length, diameter, position and angle are precisely determined. Important anatomical structures such as nerves, tooth roots and blood vessels are displayed in the 3D program and taken into account when positioning the implant. Often bone augmentation measures can be avoided in this way.

3. navigated implantation

We know where to go: Now the previously planned operation is just turned into reality. The procedure is extremely gentle, local anesthesia is usually sufficient to completely eliminate pain in the jaw area to be treated.
